BOOTHS, FOOD, PRIZES, AND MORE! SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2014 AT SIREN COVE BEACH PARK.

Coop's satisfied with the turnout today. He's been working on this event with Dylan for weeks and now that he's had the chance to talk to Les about what's going on with Joel, he feels a little more at ease. Not by a lot, friend-devouring demon on the loose and what not, but still, knowing they have some extra help has proven to be better for his sleeping patterns.
Besides, it's kind of hard to let his mind wander to darker things like that when he's watching kids points out their favorite puppies and kitties and bunnies and begging their parents for the chance to take them home. He's seen familiar faces and met brand new ones, a majority of them eager to get his advice on what's best to feed their new family addition, what the best heartworm medication is, what the best grooming tips are, all sorts of shit that he answers with ease with a giant grin on his face because this is what he loves doing. Watching little fluffballs bring joy to people's faces, it never gets old.
He can see Dylan assisting a couple with one of their older gals, a four-year-old Basset called Hettie who's the sweetest thing but hasn't had much luck in finding a forever home. Coop watches with a faint smile, pleased at the attention the dog's so deservedly getting, and doesn't really register that someone's tapping on his shoulder until it starts to feel more like they're jabbing him. He turns with a raised eyebrow, smile still intact because he's nice like that.
"Hi, yeah, what can I do ya for?"
[OOC: Feel free to use this as a gathering. Or an excuse to come harass this dumdum.]

Coop wouldn't have had it any other way, he loved getting involved with things like this. Helping to find animals a forever has always been a priority, his own two dogs he'd rescued from shelters, and he gets along well with the management. "Wish I could take all the credit because yeah, it's awesome, and we've already placed a lot of animals in new homes." He gives a half-hearted shrug. "I would have done way more but I've been a little... preoccupied lately."

"That's great, man. I'd love t'adopt one myself, but I'm not really home enough." Coop goes on and Davin looks at him with concern, reaching out to pat his back and grip the juncture of his neck and shoulder, rubbing at the tense muscle there. "I hope everythin's alright. I owe ya big time, an' I'd like t'think we're friends now, so if there's anythin' I can do, let me know. Even if ya just wanna get a drink an' blow off some steam."
He wrinkles his nose and laughs a little self-consciously. "I didn't actually mean that as innuendo but hell, I'm not gonna take it back."

See, the problem with adoption days is that Coop always ends up wanting to take all the damn animals back home. Sunny and Lucy would so not approve. Genevieve, on the other hand, wouldn't be surprised at all.
He laughs again when Davin brings up the innuendo and raises a suggestive eyebrow before shrugging and slipping his hands into his pockets. "Everything's good with me. Okay, maybe not everything, but I can't be perfect all the time." He'll be closer to perfect when Joel's little demon problem gets resolved and once he manages to clear the air with Sylvie, if that's even possible. Somehow, working things out with her seems like it's going to be a hell of a bigger job than the demon thing.

"God, stop," Davin says, watching Coop play with the puppy. "Ya look like a damn Disney prince. I'm gonna swoon."
He laughs a little and then nods. "Yeah, I get that. I needed today. If puppies an' kittens can't cure what ails ya, nothin' can."

He wiggles his eyebrows at his joke, playfully nudging Davin in the side with his elbow. "Two-dimensional, you like that? Yeah, you liked it." He sobers a little when Davin says he'd needed today and tilts his head curiously. "You havin' some troubles, buddy?"

Davin laughs when Coop bows and gives him a little curtsy in return. The bad joke makes him groan and push Coop away by the shoulder playfully when he nudges him. Then Coops asks him if he's okay like he really cares and Davin gives him a small, pleased smile.
Coop is awesome. He's nice and funny and sexy, and if Davin thought that had a chance in hell with the guy, he'd probably be crushing a little bit. But as it stands, he's just happy to be the guy's friend. A friend that he would most likely go home with if asked, but still. It's good to have friends.
It makes him realize how long it's been since he's actually had those kinds of feelings for someone. The thought is sort of depressing. He shakes it off easily enough and shrugs a bit, looking over at Coop.
"I'm okay, pal." He laughs and straightens himself up a bit. There's no point in moping. It's giving those assholes way too much power over him. "Hit a bit of a rough patch, I s'pose. It's not a big deal."
His smile turns into more of a sly smirk and he bumps his shoulder against Coop's giant broad one playfully, trying to cheer himself up before being silly with his very hot friend. "Though if ya wanted t'give me a lengthy and preferably naked hug, I'd allow it."
no subject
He hasn't known Davin all that long, but the guy's a good one. Coop likes his company, maybe for more than just the most innocent of reasons, but he doesn't think he can really be blamed for that. He playfully rolls his eyes at the naked hug comment, though, and it's not that he's opposed to it--he's very much not at all--but Coop's starting to wonder if he's in the best place for that kind of thing right now. He's rapidly approaching Complicated territory when it comes to Sylvie being back, and he doesn't know what the hell's going to happen between them but he does know that it's a hell of a buzzkill to be thinking of someone he maybe, kind of, sort of still loves when he's trying to fuck someone else.
Then again, it might prove to be the best kind of distraction.
"Hey, keep tempting me, and I'll have no choice but to take you behind one of these very fine trees to do just that," he answers with a wink. "I can't make any promises about how lengthy it'll be, though, these dogs are nosy as hell."
no subject
Coop's offer means a lot to Davin and he's sure the look on his face conveys that. He can tell that Coop doesn't mean that he'd come offer Davin a distraction, even though that may not be off the table. It's a little bewildering, but Davin believes that if he called Coop because he needed someone, a shoulder or an ear, a friend, that Coop would be there for him. He's just that good of a guy, and Davin would gladly do the same for him. "Thanks, man. I appreciate that. Same goes t'you as well. Anytime."
He lets out a genuine laugh at Coop's comment and leans against him, enjoying the solid warmth of him. "Excuse me, sir, what kinda boy d'ya think I am? I require at the very least a sunlit meadow, aye?"
