ANIMAL ADOPTION DAY
ALL ADOPTIONS FREE FROM 10AM-4PM. FIRST VET VISIT FREE WITH SHEA COOPER, DVM.
BOOTHS, FOOD, PRIZES, AND MORE! SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2014 AT SIREN COVE BEACH PARK.

Coop's satisfied with the turnout today. He's been working on this event with Dylan for weeks and now that he's had the chance to talk to Les about what's going on with Joel, he feels a little more at ease. Not by a lot, friend-devouring demon on the loose and what not, but still, knowing they have some extra help has proven to be better for his sleeping patterns.
Besides, it's kind of hard to let his mind wander to darker things like that when he's watching kids points out their favorite puppies and kitties and bunnies and begging their parents for the chance to take them home. He's seen familiar faces and met brand new ones, a majority of them eager to get his advice on what's best to feed their new family addition, what the best heartworm medication is, what the best grooming tips are, all sorts of shit that he answers with ease with a giant grin on his face because this is what he loves doing. Watching little fluffballs bring joy to people's faces, it never gets old.
He can see Dylan assisting a couple with one of their older gals, a four-year-old Basset called Hettie who's the sweetest thing but hasn't had much luck in finding a forever home. Coop watches with a faint smile, pleased at the attention the dog's so deservedly getting, and doesn't really register that someone's tapping on his shoulder until it starts to feel more like they're jabbing him. He turns with a raised eyebrow, smile still intact because he's nice like that.
"Hi, yeah, what can I do ya for?"
[OOC: Feel free to use this as a gathering. Or an excuse to come harass this dumdum.]

Realising Corry had stopped behind him, Will turned and slowed down before jogging back towards her. Realising what she was looking at, Will raised an eyebrow at her before smiling.
"We're not adopting a Cat," Will informed her. Cats didn't like him that much, they tended to think he was food or hissed at the fact that he radiated predator in his siren form. Pulling his shirt up over his head, Will wiped down the sweat sheen off his body before grinning at Corry. "Think this will help people come over to adopt?"

"Bring home a cat and I will divorce you instantly. Or we can cower together in fear as it takes over our home." As they approach the park, a few kids and families recognize Corrine and she offers a friendly wave, then takes Will's hand back in hers and heads into the park. "Did you ever have any pets?" She doesn't know. It's an odd and exciting thing, sharing this life together now, still with so much to learn.

Will tugged her closer before draping his arm round her waist as they walked over to the park and all the cute pets for adoption. Looking at Corry when she asked, he nodded.
"Sure, dogs mostly. Dogs test well with the public and I think dad always had a loftier, whiter house he wanted to live in. Couple of horses, mostly to ride for Polo." Will replied with a smile. "I always preferred the water though. And there's never been much point having a pet before, not when I wasn't in one place for long periods."
no subject
"Yeah, I know the feeling." But her eyes go wide as his next comment, a yearning she'd forgotten somewhere along the way. "You have horses? Really?!" She pauses to look at him, eyes shining the way they do whenever she's excited, smile wide and she can't believe she never knew this. "I had a horse. Not my own. But when I played Daine. She was with me for all the movies and I wanted to keep her after, but they auctioned her off to a family. She made half a million for charity, but god, I miss her sometimes." There are pets everywhere. Fortunately most of the felines are in carriers or in large play pens, but the dogs are another story - barking and playing, chasing kids with tails wagging, and Corry turns back, taking his hand again and walking them along through the pets, looking for Coop to see how they could help.
"Dogs really are a part of that archetypal domestic bliss, aren't they?" She sighs happily as a young couple invites one into their arms. "I can only imagine you rolling around with some great big thing, tossing frisbies and wrestling toys." Corry lets out a laugh. "Give you some competition for cutest of them all."

"Had- had horses. Well, technically there is still the stables but I haven't ridden for a while. I'd be a bit rusty," Will murmured, letting his hand wander up to a more safe family orientated pg friendly zone of her lower back. At least then people would stop making soft comments and giggles. "There's no competition for that, pretty sure Armageddon wins hands down. Those eyelashes."
no subject
"Okay. Point. But are you ever going to tell me what's up with Armageddon? Where did you two even come up with that? And if you insist on inside jokes I will insist on setting you two boys up on a date."
And something catches her eye. A cat she knows that shouldn't be here. "Hey, I'll be right back." She excuses herself and heads for Cinderella. But in the mere moments between then and her return, everything has changed. Her eyes are find him again, wide and faraway, her skin pale and clammy.
"I - sorry. We need to go." She whispers. And she's whimpering. No, wait, it's not her her. She feels something warm and furry nuzzling against her. Crying as if it can feel the rawness of her very core right now. The gray and white dog places her front paws atop Corrine's feet and with her muzzle lightly butts Corry's hand. Corrine turns to Will, scared and uncertain. "Wait - what's it doing?"
no subject
"Tell you what, don't cave in to my mother wanting Noma to cater our thing and I'll take you to the stables, how about that?" Will murmured, against her lips. His mouth finding her earlobe, her neck and nuzzling it before he felt Corry pull away. Smiling, he looked around and spotted who she was looking at. "On our date, mine and Les' and I don't need to tell you everything yet but if you want to set me up with Les then I don't mind."
Will let Corry go over to whoever the dark haired girl was and concentrated on finding them a puppy. Well, it was supposed to be him helping others and pretty much ended up being him rough housing a little with an adorable dog.
Looking up as Corrine returned, visibly shaken Will stood up and reached for his wife, sending a dark look towards the girl sat looking confused.
"What the hell happened?" Will muttered darkly, tugging Corry into his arms. "Think it likes you, think it's trying to make you feel better sweetheart."

And with that she's gone, and ghost Corry comes back in her place. She doesn't exactly look at Will, staring out at Cinderella, and the brunette making her want to flee all over again. Instead, her head shakes, voice soft. "The... the motel came up. It's - it's complicated. She's my sister." Will is here. She's safe and her voice and breath begins to steady. The dog remains by her side and soon her hand finds her head, scratching the dog behind her ears and it's all the mutt needs to leap up, tail wagging and paws around her shoulder.
"Oh! Hey there." And laughter finds her as a wet tongue stretches for her cheeks and lips and the dog turns her attention to Will, barking for him to pay attention.

"She's your-" Will began, looking over at the young and confused looking girl. Brushing Corry's hair from her face, he tugged her into the strong, warmth of his arms. Feeling her unsteady and shaky, he kept her close and then let out a surprised noise as their new friend jumped up onto Corry. Taking the weight, from Corry he smiled as the dog licked her cheeks and face. "Hey buddy, that's my wife you're kissing."
Helping push him down, he fussed over the dogs ears and bent down trying to get the thing to sit and behave. "Yeah, yeah she's good don't worry buddy."

"I can't believe she's up for adoption." She turns to Will, eyes gleaming on the verge of ideas. "How could anyone not want her?"
The dog takes that as a cue of acceptance, running to get a toy from the lawn and dropping it on Will's shoe. With a short bark, she sits, gazing up at him expectantly.

Will grinned goofily at the dog, bending down to pick up the toy and fussing her ears. Standing up he tossed the toy in his hand before throwing it for her to chase.

When she comes back with the toy, again dropping it at Will's feet, Corry kneels down besides her, scratching behind her ears. "You'd like to come home with us, wouldn't you?" Turning back to Will, she asks. "Do you think she has a name?"
no subject
Will bent down, leaning across the dog to meet his wife's lips in a short brief kiss. He knows he's going to give in on this and it'll be nice to have someone to come home to when Corry was away working. He wouldn't be always able to drop everything and follow her. "I think you'll find her a name. If it were up to me she'd probably end up being called Sif or Mjolnir."
